FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

From a once insecure fatty to a now confident hottie, author’s new book puts a humorous spin on conquering the bulge & life’s challenges

Jodi Williams once topped the scale at a whopping 112 kilos. In her new, inspirational book, Lap Bands and Laughter, she takes readers on her fascinating journey to undergo a life-altering procedure to drop more than 50 kilos.

GOLD COAST, QLD (AUSTRALIA)— It’s global epidemic.  According to the latest research from the World Health Organization (WHO), worldwide obesity has more than doubled since 1980 with more than 1.4 billion adults overweight.  Author Jodi Williams once ranked among those statistics.

Despite healthy eating, daily exercise and stints with medication, Jodi’s weight spiraled out of control.  That’s when in October 2006 she made the life-changing decision to undergo laparoscopic gastric banding—a decision that would ultimately transform her life both physically and mentally.

From a ten year battle with depression to living with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, Lap Bands and Laughter serves as a self-help guide for not only those suffering with obesity but anyone who has ever faced any type of setback in life.  “I spent a lot of energy blaming the world and asking myself ‘why me?’ However, I learned to realize my struggles were a gift.  The universe chose me with these problems because I had the strength to endure them and then help and share my story with others so they might learn from it,” said Jodi. “I learned that from the impossible and depths of despair, tenacity and perseverance can turn even the most hopeless situations into success.  Lap Band made me skinny but life makes me laugh.”

Composed of eleven short, insightful, page-turning chapters, readers will gain a wealth of knowledge mixed with a humor about the lap-band procedure including:

? Social and mental challenges ? The side effects  ? The procedure and the process ? Learning to date and get back into life ? What the doctors DON’T tell you

For “non-weight challenged” readers simply looking for an uplifting dose of inspiration, they will find it in Jodi’s book.  “Life can be a tough place.  Don’t make it harder for yourself.  Make a choice to do something and to do it now.  When you get knocked down, stand back up.  You only have to succeed the last time,” said Jodi.

Now 36-years-old and weighing in at 60 kilos, Jodi’s book is filled with unbelievable before and after photos of the author.  Once a size 18/20, she is now a size 6/8.  Lap Bands and Laughter can be purchased through Amazon, Clickbank, or the author’s website,
